Children Developing Proficiency in Native Language Promotes Mental Health

A child learning the family’s mother tongue has many advantages. Children who have solid skills in their native languages tend to have higher self-esteem and improved self-confidence. Because these children are more strongly connected to their families and cultures, they usually have better social skills and psychological health as well as fewer emotional problems.

Another reason for children to develop a high level of fluency in their native language is that intellectual development, the ability to succeed academically, is significantly better and progresses faster.
