Recent challenges to long-standing beliefs about Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have led to a closer scrutiny of its screening, assessment and diagnosis. This talk will focus on the professional’s role in screening, evaluating and diagnosing ASD. Participants will learn the following:
• ASD diagnostic criteria
• Approaches to screen for ASD
• The characteristics of the “gold standard” ASD assessment
• Appropriate recommendations when ASD is diagnosed
